Striped Star Bags

This cute little bag is going to grace our Fourth of July picnic table as a convenient holder for toothpicks (a necessity when serving corn on the cob and spare ribs!). It is also a great idea for favors, small flower arrangements, gift packaging, holding small knick-knacks, or as a general holiday decoration.

3 inch star shaped wooden bag

Large paint brush

White acrylic paint

Red acrylic paint pen

Blue acrylic paint pen

Acrylic glossy or matte sealer

Cover your work surface with newspaper. Paint the inside of the bag red. Paint the inside and outside of the bag and star white. Let the paint dry thoroughly. Add another coat of paint if needed. Starting at the top, make a curvy 1/8 inch wide line using the red paint pen. Skip another 1/8 inch and add a curvy line with the blue pen. Repeat until the entire star is covered. Repeat with the back side of the bag. Let the paint dry thoroughly. Seal as directed by the manufacturer with a glossy or matte sealer.
